1. Check email

If you can't log in or log into your Facebook account because it's been hacked, check your email immediately. Facebook will send you an email if there is suspicious activity on your account. You can also click the 'Forgot password' section if you can't log in with your usual email and password.

Click  the https://www.facebook.com/help/ link and visit the 'Login and Password' section. Then, select the 'Change Password' and 'Secure your account' options. Read carefully and follow any written directions.

2. Change password immediately

If your account is hacked, immediately change the password so that the account can no longer be hacked by hackers. 

Here are some criteria for a secure password, according to Facebook.

According to Facebook, there are several criteria for creating a password, namely:

Passwords should be easy to remember, but difficult for others to guess.

The Facebook password must be different from the password used to log into other accounts, such as email or bank accounts.

Longer passwords are generally more secure.

The password must not have an email name, phone number, or date of birth.

Use a mix of upper and lower case letters.

3. Recovering Facebook account

If your password has been changed, but you still can't log in. You can recover your account by visiting  https://www.facebook.com/login/identify

Search for your account by name, email, or phone number. Then, follow each of the steps given by Facebook.

4. Restore the Facebook account of family or friends

How to restore a hacked Facebook account can be done using a family or friend account.

This can be done by asking your family to open your Facebook account. Then, click on the three vertical dots icon below the profile and select the option 'Search for support or report a profile'. Then, select the 'I can't access my account' option and click 'Next'.

After that, select the option 'Recover this account'. Then, select the option 'This account can no longer be accessed'.

In the new window, enter the email and password you have changed and then click 'Next'. Facebook will ask you to do the necessary things, follow the steps asked by Facebook.

5. Report hacked account

If you still can't access the hacked Facebook account, immediately report the hack to Facebook.

You can report by clicking on the following link  https://www.facebook.com/hacked and selecting the 'My account has been hacked' option. After that, follow the steps asked by Facebook.
